“Education” or else!
“Afghanistan” or else!
“Greenhouse Gas” or else!
“National Budget Deficit” or else!
“etc.” or else!
America is tired of “Or Else’s”!
Will America, that is “the citizens of America”, stand up and fight for anything?
Will the citizens just talk?
Everything, foreign policy not excluded, is just talk….endless negotiations.
America needs to know what we want to fight for…….that is:….. some Americans want to do nothing except talk…..and negotiate.
America has to decide which it wants!
“Healthcare” is a prime example. Some people want to talk more, others want action. Some want to plan ahead! There are “poles” that show America doesn’t want the present policy to be accepted by the populous.
“Poles” are used by some “fore”; and, by others, “against”. Since there is no “clearing house for poles”; all poling data is suspect. So, the Media is the arbiter. There is no “clearing house” for the media. Now what?
Some people voted for the non-defined “change”. Now America is changing! Do you like what’s happening? If not, what are you willing to do about it?
More demonstrating? ….. more meaningless arrests?
Unhappily this “country change” is happening throughout the world. What are they doing about it?
The youth of this country has been coddled and taken care of. But now hard times are upon us and the youth are not ready to accept “hard times”! Partly to blame is the school system. They hardly even recognize “hard times”! The teachers even have a hard time recognizing the change in jobs and the economy. Who will teach the teachers?
The young adults are quite positive…….about everything. What direction will they take?..... all out guns and revolution; more radical demonstrations against anything and everything; continuing, pleasing, form for more “diplomacy”, or a complete sense of “relinquish everything”….. the Constitution, everything!
Among the many are the young adults, the college age adults, the adult men and women whose minds are fixed and made up, are the people who regularly go out and complain. They offer no solutions just complaints.
Which way will America go?
(We have learned ever so little from our own history! Who learns history anyway!)

No more “Budget Deficit” else’s!

For years we’ve been threatened with “Or Else”. Isn’t anyone prepared to do something besides threatening us with an “Or Else”?

#7900 - #31 - Are you dumb, stupid or intractable
Is your mind already made up and all you can do is give your opinion without fact!
You have had your victory and you have had “change”.
Can you find a place in your reasoning to say that “G.W. Bush was not the source of all the evils that beset the present administration”.
Can you, at least, have a two way discussion of sources for these facts?
They say that having a stable home life and a reasonably good education can make you eligible for the jobs that may come. That literally means that there are no drugs or little alcohol in the house. It also means that waiting for sex is a good idea. To love your child no matter what he/she does is NOT such a grand idea! If he/she is a murderer, a rapist, a robber, a seller of dope; to reinforce this conduct cannot be easily defended.
A good education cannot be easily achieved. Who’s going to be their teacher? Is their reasonable conduct in the school? Are the parents involved?
Is reason and logic taught? How can the student be involved with more mature workmen? Does “conflict resolution” have to be approached before the worker enters the new workplace? Is this student ready to enter the new job market?
Before any decent discussions can be had the student has to be “trained”. School has to mean something! The parent(s) must be taught that school means something! “No parents” means “no schooling”. How to get parents into the school setting remains an issue.
More money for schools hasn’t worked. Smaller class size hasn’t worked. Well, here’s an important question. Here is something worthwhile to discuss.

What is the “National Interest”? What is “National Security”? Here are other topics for worthwhile discussions. Not Tiger, or Brittany but worthwhile discussions. Is the Nations’ security threatened by Iraq or Afghanistan? Why not Pakistan, Syria or North Korea?
The Nation needs discussion ... meaningful, worthwhile discussions. Without education in “reason and logic”, without “training” in “conflict resolution”, this nation can no longer rest on their locally elected representatives. We do indeed need “change”! This time, the author hopes, that “change” will mean something!
Without the training in schools from where do the discussions come? Even the adults need the same training in “logic and reason”!
How come some adults need the “search for the more successful alternative”; and instead of adding to the din of rhetoric; they are willing to discuss rather than merely add to the noise?
The media is expert at stressing the latest topics of infidelity, drugs, and scam artists. How come we can’t get more of America interested in what’s really important...The dollar Media has!
To be polite…..To take a closer look at your appearance….To resolve conflict by words rather than by actions ….To treat a fellow employee with respect…. Where do you learn these things? This is what determines who gets the jobs!

#7900 - # 30 - Has America lost it’s will “to fight” or “stand up” for anything?
Once upon a time the majority of the voting public elected an accomplished orator on an undefined word “change”. They didn’t like the actual definition. The newly elected government filled the media with such things as The Green Thing, Health Care, the Budget Deficit, Afghanistan, Jobs, etc. All were interesting but were not the important thing. The important thing was the change in the power of the American Government!
No longer were the citizens to choose the Medicare services they wished, no longer were they in charge of the Budget Deficit, no longer did they understand what the “greening” of the world entailed and no longer did they realize that the American Way was threatened!
What some realized, that they had made a horrendous error. What others realized, that they made a mistake but they would never admit it!
So, we’re stuck. Our foreign policy is not fully acceptable, our Budget Deficit is unknown, and what we’re going to have to sacrifice is also unknown. So we’re stuck!
So now the media strikes!
Jobs, jobs, the national deficit, Tiger Woods, etc. upon etc.
All, very interesting but NOT the real issue!
The Republicans have suddenly found religion but they can’t forget they’re a party just like the Democrats. It’s still Party politics!
The Government abounds in party rhetoric! Each party blames the other. Listen to the speeches on T.V.
No one has an answer! But, we’ve organized the public to rely on the Government….for everything!
It’s a bad situation and most voting people know it!
The “minority” voting people have a way to go. They can use their judgment…..their discernment!
The “majority” voters want to turn their backs and not admit anything.
The rest of the people are interested more in their families, their jobs and their incomes and their need to do anything is diminished.
But America, at least up to now, has relied on it’s inventiveness….. to discover new industries. … new things … new ways to do more business! Do the new proposed policies offer hope in this new administration? Or, is it party politics as usual!
Can the Government change?
Does the hope in the new elections give us hope?

#7900 - #29 – When did the younger generation become a collection of “Ho-hummers, unable to properly make a decision?
Not all “Ho-hummers” are “older”…..(People with little to do except complain.)
We have spawned a whole generation of younger “Ho-hummers”!
They live off their parents.
They have little or no employment.
They like to yell out and demonstrate!. …. (although this has little or no final effect on the outcome.)
Some of them go to school, although I can’t see why. (All they seem to have is a good time!)
Some of them have a good schooling. (although modern industry can’t seem to make a profit from just this output.)
Some even voted or took actions for their candidate without using the basics of their education and demanding an explanation of the “definition of change”. (They just voted for a celebrity.... a hope!)
So you see there is such a thing as a “younger Ho-hummer”!
Yes! …..They do have an influence in the nation’s policies.!
What do you do about it?
Certainly you can charge rent!
Certainly you can insist on employment! … (Some kind of a regular schedule… anything but “free time!))
Certainly you don’t have to “love” them when they do a horrible crime. (“But I always will “love” him..”)
Know “when and what” they’re demonstrating about!..... (If they even know…..?)
Ask them why they are going to school? ….. (and then insist on what they tell you.)
If they are your enemies, then treat them as such.
If they are still your friends, share with them as much as you can. Show some interest despite your schedule. With your friends, you show interest. Why not with your kids?

#7900 - #28 – In the last election there were three types of Americans – Democrats, Republicans and the “Ho-hummers”
The “Ho-hummers” were too busy with their kids or their budgets etc. or they thought their input wouldn’t make a difference. They were “WRONG”! They are now called “the independents”. They were the bulk of the “independent voters” that could have changed the election. They didn’t know that they missed the “definition” of “change”! They just didn’t vote.
We are already aware of the number of voters namely the Democrats and the Republicans in the total vote.
They remain the people who willingly gave up their desire for “definition”. The “definition” of the word “changes”?..... What type?.... When were we to experience the “changes”?..... Apparently the man we “anointed” didn’t tell us the definitions of the word “changes”….. nor did we ask the question. We simply voted for “the man”.
The missing ingredient in America is the ability to ask good questions….. to discern.
Through laziness, lack of focus on the important things, through the reliance on the T.V. and the public media, America has lost its “focus”! The people are involved in music, celebrities, their budgets, etc. not on the real important issues of today.
Why?
The majority of the so-called “electorate” voted for the image of a man who represented “change”. He did not specify what kind of “change” nor did he represent when these changes would materialize. The so-called majority was entranced by the “celebrity” status. They were not interested in anything important. They did their duty and voted. Later they missed the “discussion”, the “definition”, the important item of what they were voting for……But that was “later”, after they had “anointed” the man.
The “Ho-hummers” never cared one way or another. “Let the government take care of us!” Although they represented a mixture of “I don’t cares” and “Too busy with their own problems”, they did, indeed, find out they were the “swing vote” in the elections….. AFTER!
But it was too late!

WHOSE TO PAY FOR ALL THIS?..... and, WHERE DOES THE MONEY COME FROM?

You have no sense of doubt!
You argue instead of “discuss”!
You have “facts” on your side!
Where did you get your so-called “facts”?
From newspapers, from talk shows, from the “internet”?
Does each one have a “prejudice”, a “point of view” to get across?
Do you believe everything you read?
Does your Government have a “point of view”?
Do you try to “convince” on the internet?
Do you have a “point of view”?
Do you “seek” new information by “sharing your present knowledge”, or do you try to convince people?
It’s all in your presentation!
Do you present your opinions as statements of “facts” or are you careful to present your opinions as your “present opinions”?
“Facts” are a preliminary to an “argument”! ….. “Personal opinions” invite discussions!
Do you seek new knowledge or do you wanna’ fight?
Obviously, the news media, or the talk show hosts have a point of view to get across, or, they wanna’ fight!
Do you want to join them?

The past “voting procedure” and the “tea party” incidents are perfect examples of people who have lost their sense of “reason”, their sense of “new facts”!

#7900 - #26 - “CREDIT” is a dirty word!
Unregulated “Credit” is a dirty word!
Unregulated “anything” usually becomes a dirty word!
Where else in the world can you buy a home for 5% down?
Where else can you have “credit” whenever you want it?
Isn’t “un-regulated competition” a mark of “capitalism?
Isn’t “winner take all” a mark of capitalism?
Isn’t the desire “to get ahead” a human characteristic?
Isn’t the desire to live a “better life” a human characteristic?
Isn’t the desire to “do better than your neighbor” a human characteristic?
Well, the “un-regulated” part, “the lack of public transparency” part, is why we’re trouble.
Can you imagine anyone loaning money and not wanting to be paid back?… (yes, insisting on being paid back)
Can you imagine that you would invent a scheme, or in any way to harm your friends or business partners?
Can you imagine that you would invent a scheme to hide bad “loans” from people who couldn’t or wouldn’t pay back the money loaned to them?
That’s what happened, folks!
Without “public transparency”, without “appropriate regulation”, the human beings went wild! They abounded the principles of intelligent loaning… (their own accounting rules, their own actuarial tables, their own experiences…..) Without some kind of Public oversight, the capitalistic spirit went wild!
The desire “to do better than your neighbor” went wild!
The desire to abandon you neighbor or your business adversary was a thing of the past!
Even the poorly though out desire to have everyone own his/her own home was a thing devoutly to be wished for, but impossible for a capitalistic society to achieve. Even our own present, Government had a poor thought but kept on insisting on it.
So, here we are folks!
We do have choices!!..... We can do nothing or we can avoid doing nothing by having the attitude that “whatever we attempt to do” won’t affect the out come OR we can change our whole government by our vote.
OR,
We, as in other countries, can wait for the armed insurrection of the ordinary groups of people who have finally come to their wits end and have no other choices.

#7900 - #25 - Why “Perfection” is impossible!
“Perfection (=Nirvana)” is different for everyone. Not everyone thinks the same things are important!
Think of the differences in the media today … Iraq, Afghanistan ,Ms. Pelosi, abortion, no child left behind, universal healthcare, etc. upon etc.
Not everyone thinks that America should be “policeman of the world!”
To be publically elected today, the candidate should promise “two chickens in every pot and two cars in every garage and a house for every couple!” The candidate’s rhetoric should be about “perfection” for everyone! That’s what has been done!!
Shouldn’t the public be warned about the coming “inflation” and what “inflation” really means to someone’s pocketbook!!! (Not everyone is aware of what “inflation” means to them, personally.)
The author thinks that everyone is NOT aware of what America is as a nation compared to the rest of the world. The position of a “National respect” once lost, how do you gain it back? There could NOT be this many complaints if we had NOT lost the “respect for America1”… How come America is seen as a “Land of Opportunity”, of “Hope” throughout the world? We must have done something right!

“Too big to fail”, “ bailout” money from the government, “stimulus package” (also from the government)…. Is the government supposed to “take care of everyone?” Who’s going to pay this money back? Every time a government “bails out” a company, history says it turns out badly in the near future.
“Is America paying too much for everything?”
Do the blackmail strikes in the auto industry mean we are forced to pay much for our autos? … Legacy costs, pensions, work rules, medical expenses, etc… Are we forced to pay too much for everything due to past decisions? Would a normal executive put out a “loss” on his statement to the press and the stockholders? Or would he raise the prices to avoid the embarrassment?
“Have we been succored into something we can’t pay for?”
Do the government restrictions, its oversight, and the decisions of the executives of the large corporations bear the true responsibilities for the current mess we’re in?
“Do the citizen’s responses to these things merit some responsibility for these actions?”
After all, if the citizens refused to pay for the autos, etc. would they be forced to take some action to the strikes, etc. If the workers revolted and refused the medical health benefits, could they be expected to refuse what their union had gotten for them?
If the workers at G.M. trusted the financial reports that they were getting, would they still standby their union? ... (Look at it now?)
“If America needed the additional credit it now wants the banks to provide, was the additional borrowing necessary to keep the industries of America from failing?” … (Too big to fail, oversight, etc. )
Is America on the way out?

Can we afford our present standard of living?

Think of the differences in the media today … Iraq, Afghanistan ,Ms. Pelosi, abortion, no child left behind, universal healthcare, etc. upon etc.
Not everyone thinks that America should be “policeman of the world!”
To be publically elected today, the candidate should promise “two chickens in every pot and two cars in every garage and a house for every couple!” The candidate’s rhetoric should be about “perfection” for everyone! That’s what has been done!!
Shouldn’t the public be warned about the coming “inflation” and what “inflation” really means to someone’s pocketbook!!! (Not everyone is aware of what “inflation” means to them, personally.)
The author thinks that everyone is NOT aware of what America is as a nation compared to the rest of the world. The position of a “National respect” once lost, how do you gain it back? There could NOT be this many complaints if we had NOT lost the “respect for America1”… How come America is seen as a “Land of Opportunity”, of “Hope” throughout the world? We must have done something right!

#7900 - #24 - The “NEW” Republican Party Rules for “success”!
Never, never use the Bush era as a comparison!
The Public has heard enough!
Never, never try to “out rhetoric” the expert!..... The Democratic “wish list” is the Republican Party’s “to do” list. The Republican’s “finish” what should be done in a Democratic “perfect world”! …. The case is the following….. Republic Party says “Do what can be done with responsibility!” …. The Democratic Party says “To do what should be done in a “perfect world” regardless!”
This is the “gap”!
The New Republican Party must not try to speak about “the Perfect World!” That’s already been done! But “How you can accomplish parts of this without wrecking the country” ; that’s new!! That can be accomplished without the side-track issues of Education reform, Medical reform, the present Government’s predilection to issue subpoenas on torture and the like etceteras.
The Democratic media is “for distractions” (Brittany, Medical reform, Education reform, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and Palestine situation….all important now but less than the National crisis we are now in!...)
The more the media discusses the distractions, the less is the importance in the coming inflation and what it does mean to our children and grandchildren….. Will we leave a country that is mired in debt or leave a country as we found it?
Your coming vote is the answer.
The Democratic Party is already showing its course. What about the New Republican Party? Have they learned the lessons of the past? Have they elected some new faces? Have the “old” incumbents survived?

How can you criticize Obama for his rhetoric?... After all, he thinks about the “land of perfection” and everyone wants that!.... (“Nirvana”)
How can you criticize Obama for his “rock star” adulation and coronation attitude?....(He’s for perfection!)
How can you criticize Obama for wanting the government to take care of everything!
Doesn’t each one of us want to be “taken care of”?
Doesn’t each one of us want a land of “Perfection”?.....(Nirvana!)
Doesn’t each one of us want to coronate a “King”?
What can we “afford”?
Is everything “affordable”….?
Is healthcare “affordable” to everyone?
Is “educate our children with no child left behind” affordable?
Is a home for everyone possible?
Is everyone entitled to opportunity and freedom?
What makes America?
It is the lessons we learned from others.
It is the choices we made from alternatives we observed in others.
It is the type of organization, to address these concerns, that we built and put into writing.
It is the government we formed to make our citizens abide by “the piece of paper… (the Constitution!)
When is Obama going to decide what he wants?
You can’t promise everything to America at one time.
Ambition is taking over “common sense”!
When he gets what he wants, whose gonna’ tell?
When is he going to decide?
When is America going to decide?
America must be rebuilt by cold and concentrated thinking!
One cannot build America on ambition alone. It takes thinking, long term thinking, about what we want in the end. Do we really want “to be taken care of”?
Can’t you tell that Obama is talking about “what everyone would like to see” and “NOT how you get there”?

#7900 - #22 – The myth – “The American Nirvana”(the land of perfection!) Revised 5-2-09
Why did we chose to elect a President who spoke about “The American Nirvana” (the land of perfection…) without telling us how we’d get there!
Why did we (at least a majority of us…) voice and adopt the ideas of “The American Nirvana” without a thought, if they were practical or “what we really wanted”. We accepted the rhetoric as facts and ideals. We forgot about what made America great!
Before we can know what we can “afford”, we must “know what we really want”.
Before all this rhetoric on T.V. and the media, we must “know what we really want”.
Before we cast a vote, we must “know what we really want”.
Well; do we know “what we really want?”
Do we want Britney?.... or do we want an unknown “change”? …or do we want unlimited investigations of our past? …or do we want “green”? … etc.
What do we really want?
Do we want “freedom”?
Do we want “opportunity”?
Do we want the things that made America great?
Or do we want Britney?....We can’t have an unknown “change”! … W can’t have can’t spend the time on investigating our past! … We need our strengths to be revitalized! … etc. upon etc.
Which do we really want?
Can we buy “freedom and opportunity”?
Can we proclaim the rhetoric on the T.V. and media as our own, and, vote for the same things?.
Can we proclaim this daily rhetoric as some things “we really want”?
Can we survive the temporary “lapse” in our common sense?
Do we want the things that made America great?
Do we care any more?
“Rhetoric and Nirvana” are meaningless words. Yet, the majority of us chose them!
Is it too late to change, now?
America was built on more “transparent and understandable” choices; not on rhetoric and Government solutions.

#7900 - #21 - What does the Government mean by “Stimulus, Forbearance, Appraisal?”
By “Stimulus”, the government meant anything that encouraged the performance NOW! (as opposed to later or in the FUTURE…)
By “Forbearance”, the government meant that it will forgive any resolutions or amounts promised in the PAST! (as opposed to contracts or promises in the NOW!…)
By “Appraisal”, the government meant any attempt made to give a value to a property that was on the market NOW!
All these things the Government meant were missing in documentation. The general public was to go “blind”. The legal interpretations were left to the lawyers, politicians and accountants! “Transparency” was just another word! Another dream of election “rhetoric”!
No one could make “real” plans. The executives couldn’t put figures to these dreams. Employment would just have to seek its own level, and “home delinquencies” would have to endure. This was the state of “rhetoric” without “legal definition”!
The politicians in Washington were more interested in votes than they were in the problems of the national public. The “Democrats” wanted to run things and the “Republicans” wanted to prevent this from happening. Both parties were building “for a future”. The “general Public” be damned!
Whatever happened to “personal responsibility”? Here a Nation was suffering and the appointment of a rank amateur was declared by a loyal and vociferous young group that wanted to “change” everything”. There was no allowance given for experience, “older age” or “the ways of Washington, D.C. No everything was for “change NOW”!
Who’s going to pay? The young and the “coronationists”? With what?....taxes?
The soaking of the “rich” won’t pay a quarter of what will be the National debt. What then?
Is America faced with a third world outlook or will America turn itself around?
Does Washington have the brains to pull this off?
This is the big question……

What is anything worth?
Who or What determines the value of anything? ….. (Toxic Mortgages, etc.)
Is the value of anything determined by the community we live in?
Do different societies want the same things?
What about the “stimulus package”?
What about “bailout packages”?
What about National differences.
What about Social differences
Different societies value things differently.
Different ideas by different societies (ideas of death, religion, security, etc..) have different values.
With all these differences ; why do we want our government to place a value on anything?
Why do we want the government to determine every value?
Why do we want government to run our lives?
Why do we want government as a “last resort”?.....Who wants government and why?
The results are already in!... Look at “transparency”! …. What a joke!
The government is turning the financial crisis into a Lawyer’s and Accountant’s nightmare. Talk in terms of alphabet soup; incomprehensible to the average American consumer! So much for “greater transparency”!
Healthcare by the government? … You have to be kidding!

Did we vote for a “gambler” who gambles our money for a budget crisis?
Did we vote for a person who gambles everything on questionable “policy”?
Did we vote for a person who gambles the Nation’s treasury, the whole treasury, on a future to “fix all the nation’s ills” at one time?
What can a healthy nation afford?
With its economic background, what can any Nation afford its citizens?
Are the Citizen’s realistic? …. Did the Government offer more than it can produce?
What, realistically, can the Government offer to produce effectively now?
Suppose the people want more than the government can produce effectively? Who is going to tell the people that their expectations are not possible in the length of time allotted?
Certainly NOT the “politicians” who want their votes! (by giving everything away!)
Then who? …the President (from his “bully pulpit”)!
The people expect “transparency”….. Who is going to give them “that”?
After hearing “The Central Business” committee hearing and one last plea from the Chairman…” Who are the major owners of the “toxic problems” ; and hearing another “NON ANSWER”, the meeting was adjourned. No wonder the American people are upset. We can’t even figure out, approximately, how much we are in debt”. Transparency” it seems is just a little ,fancy word by a wordsmith!
Is it safe to “gamble” the entire U.S. treasury on policies that aren’t even debated?
Would total transparency scare the American people?
Do most of the people care? …. What would make them “care”?
Forget the “Ipod” thing! ….Forget who won the World Series…… Forget the petty things! …
Who’s going to pay? … With what? …. How much? …. For how long? …What are my obligations?
Suppose I don’t pay? … What will living in America mean? … What will life in America look like?...
This is the stuff of the “Bully Pulpit!”

At the rate we’re going, $400 plus billions added to the National debt this week (with more to come), when will Foreign Nations refuse to invest in the debt of the U.S.?
When will the Nation start the printing presses?
If this is “change” and the “younger” voters take over, will this “young vote” realize that “they” will have to pay for what they voted for?
If the Chinese refuse to buy anymore of the U.S. debt, what will become of the FDIC?
If the FDIC is no more, what will happen to the savings that are in the Nation’s largest financial institutions and are “presently insured” by the FDIC?

What if the World loses faith in the American dollar and refuses to buy its debt paper?
Still “refuse to believe ”we won’t go broke?.... Think about this!
The FDIC remains the insurance policy of all the U.S. money in circulation. Once the FDIC remains NO MORE, what will the world do?
There’s more to it than that!.... Where will all those people, with their carefully saved earnings, put their hopes for a future go?
If America is the “land of opportunity”, with no currency that anyone can count on; what prevents us from becoming another, third world country?
If the “young” amongst us continue to elect representatives that feel that government should pay an ever larger part in our decision making; then they must bear the financial burden also. They may come to realize that experience and history still have values.
So what to do?
The “younger” voters must make up their minds which do “they” want?.
“They” must make loud utterances (that are transparent and mutually understandable by all) rather than continues to talk “around the real issues. You want “health care”? How much will it cost?.... You want everyone in a house? How much will it cost?..... Who’s going to pay? When?
“They” got us thinking that “everyone wants help” from the government.
Somebody must pay for all this!

Do you care what you have to pay the U.S. government next year and the following years?
Do you care about the increase in the National deficits?
Do you care about who’s going to pay these National debts?

The current spending in the “Stimulus” package is going to raise the National debt!
You, all of you, are going to pay off the National debt!
You are “the provider” of funds necessary to pay off this debt!
If you believe that the money you have borrowed from the U.S. credit carries no repayment; you are wrong!
You must be interested in both the terms!…. how long to repay and the interest rate!

The “Stimulus” package contains many measures that the normal congress first discusses then votes. Unfortunately the “1000 plus pages” of the bill was handed to Congress less than 24 hours before they voted. No one had time to read it (much less discus it …..) before they voted for it!
This amount, some $4.0 trillion was added to the National debt!......And now it has to be paid back!
This “Suffocates” the congress of the U.S. In this package are contained many of the things that have to be discussed among its members. Many of these things must be “aired out”! (must be mutually agreed upon) This “Suffocation” of Congress is a part of the “Stimulus” bill! You must pay for it!
Far be it from a mutually agreed upon “package”, this bill contains many arguable amounts of money that many in Congress don’t agree with; but they can’t do anything about!

# 7900 - #14 - Why does the Author write these blogs?
How do you reach everybody, at once, at one time?
You don’t!
You can’t!
It’s impossible!
There is not a “language” that can speak to everyone at one time!
There is not a “word” that is interpreted the same by everybody!
There is not an “idea” that is interpreted the same for everybody!
Everyone has their own interpretation about everything!
So what can we do?
We write and we speak as clearly as we can and hope that someone, who’s looking for new information, will seize our writings and speeches and change his way of looking at a particular idea in a new way.
Hopefully we can add to his “thinking”!
We are “restricted to” someone who happens on our efforts.
We are “restricted to” someone who is searching for an “alternative” solution.
We are “restricted to” someone who is of a willing mind, someone whose ideas are not “fixed”.
The Author hopes to meet people who are in a “thinking” mode.
He couldn’t care less about “Agreement”, only about a well stated position…..(about anything!)
The Author feels this is the thing “most lacking” in the discussions of today.
Where is a reasonably stated discussion of our Foreign Policy; the way we ought to live in a “competitive society; what to do with the people who think differently; ad infinitum ....

#7900 - #13 - “Definition” is the mainstay of good relationships!
I. You will not have the appreciation and understanding of what might be. Isn’t it true that if I point to the sky and remark how “green” the sky is today; and then, look at the grass and remark how “deep blue” the grass is today; that you could understand what I was referring to? You could then discuss the “green” sky with me. True, I could now identify your meaning of “green” with my usual meaning of “blue”. We could exchange. We have a “mutual” understanding of your definition of “blue and green”. It may not be efficient but it is “mutually” understandable.
We have “defined” blue and green by relating them to objects that we both can observe. We have “sort of defined the words” mutually. We both understand the terms in future exchanges. But, if I had not recognized the relationship with the objects of sky and grass, I wouldn’t have a clue to what you were referring!!! How about Republican, Democrat, free society, American…get what I’m getting at?
II. A “Label” is no substitute for understanding.
Because you call “it” something, because you “name” it something; does NOT add to my understanding. It remains just a word. There is no “definition!
III. “Volume” is no substitute for understanding.
Because you say it “louder” does NOT increase my understanding!
IV. “Repetition” is no substitute for understanding.
Because you say it over and over again does NOT increase my understanding
V. Is there a successful alternative to “definition”?
Now do you see what happens if you don’t know the “definition of a definition”!! If you don’t know what it is; how are you going to have a “mutually understood” exchange with me. What we now have is “oral static”!!!
So what do I think is the “definition of a definition”? ……..
“My” definition of “definition” is …
The word “Definition” is the name given to a “process” by which things are separated into ever smaller parts.
A rock is harder than snow, but softer than a diamond. A rock is heavier than a feather. A rock is usually rougher than silk. A rock can be almost as rough as barbed wire. Etc., etc. …..
By relating to things that we “both” are aware of, we engage in a “process” of breaking the word down into ever smaller distinctions. This can also be applied to “an idea”, to an opinion”. Before you can answer , you must first “define”.
“Is there a successful alternative”?
There is NO need to speak at each other, only with each other!
There is no need to yell (volume), no need to “repeat”, no need to “label” something (as though the “label” increases understanding).
No need to do anything “at” each other!! … only “with” each other!!
(This could help to “define” the word “mutual” and “understanding”.)
Without these thoughts, how can you have a “mutual exchange” that is meaningful, constructive, thought provoking? How can you have a “conflict resolution”? How can you enjoy the mutual exchange of thoughts and feelings? How can you truly enjoy your conversations with others?

“The proper placement of, proper English words, in a proper sentence that “means nothing!!!” …It’s just noise! …. It’s just “static”!!! … It’s just “oral static”!!
How often have you engaged in an exchange of “oral static”? Neither party is interested in finding out what the other party meant when they said “………..”
Neither party is trained, or educated, or motivated to try to first find out what the other party means. But as night follows day, each party will have an answer or an opinion of what “each thought the other meant!!!” If that isn’t an exchange of “oral static” I don’t know what is!! What’s the use? What is gained? There is no “mutual understanding”! It’s just noise!!
Yet people get angry. People get disgusted, frustrated, loud, etc. over something that neither party has tried to understand. …..They just stay there and yell at each other! … Leave in a huff! … All because people haven’t thought about the possibility of “first” trying to understand!

Were you led to believe that the American public would be led, not “compromised”?
Is all you’re getting is “the big Compromise”?

To “Lead” is to find the correct mixture and “stick with it!” (at least ‘till the American public , by its votes, says NO!)
“Leadership” does NOT mean "change you’re course with every poll”!
The “rhetoric” of the campaign suggests “other ways”. Was “campaign rhetoric” what you depended on? If you did are you sorry now when it’s too late? Was you’re arm waving in the coronation of “rhetoric” a mistake?

So, they’re giving us both! The President isn’t a help either. He , basically, is led by his political party, not by a “POLICY”.
What can we do about it?......
Use the voting mechanism a little more wisely.
“Think” before you vote.
Become a little bit “more informed”.
Failure to do this means the end of America as we know it. No more free press, No more education for women and faulty education for men, No more free assembly, NO more anything that keeps America different from the world.

#7900 - #10 – For the People, by the People! – the “thinking People” that is…….
The “older People” can get smarter in their choices. Time and normal exchanges can be valuable experiences; valuable choices in making opportunities. It is not smart to abandon “older” People.
Well; look at us now!... A fine mess we’re in!
Is it “older People” who have gotten us in this mess or conniving entrepreneurs, of all ages, that have done “the dirty deed”! Have our “representatives” failed us in auditing and overseeing? Who’s to blame? (Certainly not the “elderly” amongst us!)
Did our so-called representatives fail us? Are we to blame? Are we to pay for their omissions and mistakes? Do the taxpayers bail out whomever caused this to happen?
Who’s going to jail?
America wants and needs precise answers. ….not diluted “generalilities”, not “non-transparencies”! All we want is what we were promised. Transparency, Transparency! Can we do anything about it? Not now, but in the future! Use our vote wisely. Select those that can be responsible. Select those who are not suspect in their associations. Certainly select those that are NOT responsible for the paths we take to get out of the jam we’re in! ....They’re responsible …. NOT us!
Are you just as fed up with the numerous hearings we see on T.V.? Our so-called representatives are trying to learn what the facts are and what the alternatives may be from the very people who put them in the bind they’re in now. They jockey for T.V. “face time”. They say nothing new. They are trying to learn what is transpiring or they’re trying to make a speech for the “record” so they can get votes in the next election. You be the judge this time! Make your vote wisely. Make it count!
For those of you who are caught up with employment, the family, the wages received, the care and feeding of children and/or relatives; there won’t be an America left. (At least, an America that will let you care about such things!) Better start caring about the essentials. Better make yourself aware of the fundamental issues. There is no such thing as being “on the sidelines”! See why the “older history” made America think and act as we do now. Is the Constitution to be made “relevant”? Some of your selected representatives think so! They think there’s no harm in changing this “old” document!
“We can’t do anything about it.” …. “We don’t seem to make a difference!” … Well if you write or call your representative, at least he’ll know how you feel. You’ll be doing something! He won’t have to guess how you feel. What good are marches and demonstrations among “like minded advocates”? He already knows their point of view….. How can you NOT think about the future?
Do you want to face East and pray every day, 5 times a day? Do you want “Sheriaha” law? Women can’t leave the house without a companion. Women have no right to vote, to own a car, etc. Well; Europe is about to be swallowed up with young, aggressive people who believe in death and its rewards. So is the Asian continent. Read, read….about the coming explosion. Is America doomed? Why not? Is it because of the CIA or the Army or because we say so? Get involved. Try to understand what’s really important.

For those of you who are caught up with employment, the family, the wages received, the care and feeding of children and/or relatives; there won’t be an America left. (At least, an America that will let you care about such things!) Better start caring about the essentials. Better make yourself aware of the fundamental issues. There is no such thing as being “on the sidelines”! See why the “older history” made America think and act as we do now. Is the Constitution to be made “relevant”? Some of your selected representatives think so! They think there’s no harm in changing this “old” document!
“We can’t do anything about it.” …. “We don’t seem to make a difference!” … Well if you write or call your representative, at least he’ll know how you feel. You’ll be doing something! He won’t have to guess how you feel. What good are marches and demonstrations among “like minded advocates”? He already knows their point of view….. How can you NOT think about the future?
Do you want to face East and pray every day, 5 times a day? Do you want “Sheriaha” law? Women can’t leave the house without a companion. Women have no right to vote, to own a car, etc. Well; Europe is about to be swallowed up with young, aggressive people who believe in death and its rewards. So is the Asian continent. Read, read….about the coming explosion. Is America doomed? Why not? Is it because of the CIA or the Army or because we say so? Get involved. Try to understand what’s really important.

#7900 - #09 – Do you want someone else to pay your bills?
A “Loss” means a “Loss” to you; but also, to someone else!
No matter what type of program, “bailout”,or “Boondoggle”, you attempt; you cannot eliminate a “Loss” to someone else.
That “someone else” has got to be a part of the “Loss”…. (be it a bank. some agency). Someone who created the “paper” asset that claimed to back up the arrangement. It has to be a “Loss” to someone!
All this fancy talk about the successful way to eliminate “the bad loans” is just some more “talk”!
It cannot be done! …..Who’se gonna’ take the “Loss”? ….That’s what we oughta’ be talking about.

If it’s the Banks, who initiated the loans, then how much are they willing to “Lose” to drop the original loan amount? How much are they willing to pay for the now depreciated loan?
If it’s the broker, when he can be found, what paper work is there to say whether the borrower can pay back the loan?
If it’s one of the loans that were packaged, who can say whether the amount paid for the packaged loan was sufficient to pay off the loan. The next to last owner of the packaged loans was to perform “due diligence” on the new owner of the package to see whether he was “responsible”…
.Someone, in this line, must take a “Loss”.
They can’t expect the person who has lived by the rules, paid his mortgage, to pay an additional amount to pay off the responsibility of someone else. It is this open question that makes the general public so disgusted.
Yeh, but what about all these efforts to pass a bill (stimulus, a bail out package, etc….)?
These efforts are a fraud to distract the general public that there is a way out without someone taking a “Loss”.
If the Government forms a “bad bank” for the next 20 years. all the loans that have not been paid are a direct “Loss” to the government. If the Government loans money to a bank at low interest up clear up a banks balance sheet, the Government “losses” money in the world market because of the low interest…. It’s a “Loss”!

#7900 – #08 – “Distraction vs. Hopelessness”
America “today” needs “hopefulness”. ….
After all, didn’t the immigrants feel “hopeful”.
“The streets were paved with gold”! ……America was a source for hope!
The “hopelessness” that today pervades America is brought on by feelings:
a - Our government is against us!
b – Our government is stupid, inept, lacks conviction, just wants votes!
c – The use of “distraction” (by the media T.V., and “pundits’) with such words as “stimulus”, “buy outs”, “social engineering, etc.
d – The “Government” should provide us with everything! …our money, our jobs, our opportunities!
Is it any wonder, that with a “lineup” like that, that America today feels “hopeless”?
If the average person feels betrayed, is it any wonder that the feelings against the government are what they are today?
Does it not follow that the government is stupid, “distracted by political infighting”, fighting each other for the “votes”?
Why, then, should the public want to rely on the Government for “handouts”? (opportunities, jobs, etc.)
Why, then, should the public expect solutions to the current financial situation? (stimulus package, buy out package, “bad” bank, etc.)
We are in a “change”! No longer is age a factor, or experience that comes from living on the planet longer. No, we are in a “youth culture”!
Age is supposed to cover everything! …from “the worship of words” to the “coronation” of a world, supposed, leader.
Also, we are in a “change” as far as ethnicity goes. No longer is “white” a national color, but we have “browns”, of various shades, by immigration and by law. Discrimination is a thing of the past. We encourage ethnic diversity!
Yes! We are in a “changing environment”. The “good” of history; the decisions that made us the greatest nation in the world; are all forgotten in the “newest generation”! The “choices made” have been disregarded!
I guess we’ll have to learn from history again. (if that’s possible….)

#7900 - #07 - Is a man with a law degree, common sense, and a good “gift for gab” make a “Good LEADER”?
Is a man a “Good Leader” unless he posses a rare gift of a philosophy (of sorts)?
If he believes everyone in the world should have the same opportunities, the same standards of living that every one else has, shouldn’t you know his philosophy? Suppose there are differences? Wouldn’t it be wise to find those differences out before he was elected “Leader”?
Who were his friends?..... Where did he get his philosophy?..... What does he truly believe?

Ever since our economy got rid of gold as a foundation for money, money has been valued as a paper transaction between nations.
How else could there be such enormous amounts transferred from one country to another, daily?
How else could the enormous manufacturing process continue without the “credit” function existing?
How else could the economies of nations exist without “credit”?
How else could the credit function exist without the electronic transfer of wealth exist?
So now you see why we gave up the “gold system” and replaced it with the fiat (or paper) system.
Gold was too cumbersome!
So, enter the fiat (paper money, paper promises) system.
Now, the crooks could come in!... Now the entrepreneurs could start.
“Credit” was an “open season”!.......“Credit” was king!
No longer was a volume of gold to measure, but the total amount of “credit” (paper) could not be audited.
What a bonanza! A “bonanza” for the manipulation of a system…a world wide system!
A system without oversight! … a system that accommodated the new manufacturing process, a system that accommodated “credit”.
No longer was there a green shaded eye on the system; but nations began to apply any value it wanted to, to its existing improvements. Time attempted to sort these values out, but time was not enough. Nations began “currency” manipulations. They began to claim their values on their improvements. Soon; the world was in a mess!..... Nobody had an “oversight” system that worked. “Credits” were given, although “paper” were their backing. There was no way to control “anything”.
We had given up a reasonably controllable “gold system” for a more accommodating fiat (or paper) system….. “Credit” was still “king”. ….. “Use now and pay for it later!”……. “CREDIT”!!!

Would you risk everything, your standard of living, your country’s economy, your children’s way of life?

Do you want a $3 trillion national deficit or a more manageable $1.5 trillion debt?
Who do you believe? …. The actual managers of banks or the voices of the congress?
That’s what we “gambled” on…..
Barac believes we can handle a $3 trillion national debt. The bank mangers don’t believe America can survive. …… Want to take an “all or nothing gamble”?
With all his campaign rhetoric, Barac wants to stimulate the economy and create 3 million new jobs.
Those people who raised their hands, arms, and voices in an anointment of Barac got their wishes. Did they expect what their gonna’ get? … Did they even “think” before they acclaimed their God? …. Did they think about the consequences of their act? ….. I don’t think so!
With all this goodwill and from his back round and friends, does Barac now believe that he is the one to save us all?

Which did you vote for?
Were you “taken in” by the election rhetoric?
Did you vote for what you believed would happen or did you think the Bush doctrine was so terrible that the country would not survive?
Do you believe that Obama’s “team” would listen to the best advice that Bush had gotten?
What, exactly, is the bush doctrine? Can you tell, now, how it differs from the Obama doctrine?
Will the wars end tomorrow or in 6 months or in 6 years? Who, but the commanders on the ground know?
Do you believe the Obama’s promises “to end the war and bring home the troops within 6 months of the inauguration”?
Do you still believe that all poverty be taken care of by the “rich” people? Despite the facts that there is not enough money in the world to devise a policy to do this, much less from just the “rich”…..
Did you just become aware of the awful condition of the “economy”? … The fact that with these continuing deficits and bail outs carry an interest rate that even your grandchildren will have to pay… That there is no money cure for unemployment? … That this “mythical team” lacks the brains to handle the current conditions, much less, the future conditions this country will face.
Is this an “Inauguration or an “Ignoryournation”?
Do you think that listening to the loud voices of the bitter people would lead us to more logical policies?
Do you, now, think that electoral rhetoric” was the answer?.... Did your really think the words were the solutions…or did you think at all? …. Did you wave your arms and voices of “adoration” for another celebrity….or did you think at all? …
Will the past environment, the past associations, form the way the government will draw its policies?

#7900 - #02 -What makes you believe you can’t lose?
Do the “words” of a person prevent you from loss?
If a stranger says “you can’t lose on this deal”, do you accept his say-so?
If a stranger says “this house will increase in value 10% to 15% per year, do you take this as a fact?
What makes you believe you can’t lose?
You must have signed a “loan document” that says you will pay back the loan amount you borrowed for the house or car or furniture, or etc. along with the interest on the money you borrowed. This “loan document” also describes the collateral for the loan (i.e. the house, address etc., the type of car, its year, its VIN number, etc.) and the fact that you are willing to give up the ownership of the collateral if you don’t pay back the loan plus interest. Some document that you already signed is significant that a loan was granted.
Seeing this as a growing business, some groups of entrepreneurs joined the “business” of “loaning money”. They took these loans and made them into securities and resold them to another financial institution . (the so-called Mortgage Backed Securities) They were sold and re-sold. After all, you could buy a “collateralized loan”, at an interest rate, without the expense of grouping these loans.
You could do this until after you figured it out, that a portion of these loans would go bad, and , depending on your judgment; all you need to do was have enough money in reserve for those few loans. Since the market was supposedly “going up” what was there to lose?
But the market didn’t keep “going up” and more than a few loans became abandoned. Soon, there wasn’t enough money in reserve to pay for the “abandon loans”. So, some banks were unable to pay back. They went broke. Then some people couldn’t pay back their loans. They went broke. So, the people next store didn’t want to live in a neighborhood filled with boarded up houses, unkempt lawns, etc. so they put their house up for sale. But, nobody else wanted to live in such a run down neighborhood so they couldn’t sell at any price. So, they went broke. The restaurants and bars and stores, who had all these regular customers, no longer could depend on these customers coming in; so they closed up shop and went broke. Employment went down in these neighborhoods. So. With less consumers, they went broke.
What makes you believe you can’t lose?
That is the situation we’re in now. What is the way a lawyer, a bank teller, a butcher, a baker, etc. can be made to work on a bridge? Suppose the existing laws are such that the highest wages in the section of the country, the prevailing union wages, must be paid on all government projects; who is going to afford $40.00 per hour for a signal men to say “stop and go” for a highway construction. Who can afford this?
Will a bank teller take this kind of work?
What or how will money create 3 million jobs…. Is this possible?
But we were promised!.... Did we listen to just the words?
What else do we do?.... “But my team” will find the way! ….
Have we created a monster?
Can America survive? …..We can and we must!

Suppose the existing laws are such that the highest wages in the section of the country, the prevailing union wages, must be paid on all government projects; who is going to afford $40.00 per hour for a signal men to say “stop and go” for a highway construction. Who can afford this?
Will a bank teller take this kind of work?
What or how will money create 3 million jobs…. Is this possible?

The American people have been lied too.
“America” has always held that the goal of the worker has been permanent “Retirement”!
It has never said what “retirement” means.
Can there be a “Retirement Policy”?
This “myth” affect all generations...those that are young …those that are still working….those that are thinking about retirement!
The government stresses “retirement” without knowing what it’s all about!
Are you sure there is a “retirement” policy?
Is a “retirement” policy something that everyone has ?
What do people do where there is no retirement policy?
What do you do with a retirement policy?
These are important questions that need answers.
What do you do in retirement? How does your life change? Is this a matter of money…only? Suppose you have extra time….what do you fill it with? With whom do you want to spend more time? How much more time and what do you want from this extra time?
How do you handle the so-called “Retirement Policy”?.... (if any?)
Are you thinking about all those things that you can buy? … (Why?)

Suppose you don’t have to work in that awful job, suppose that you want to see your wife more, suppose you want to see your kids more, suppose you want to live in a house that’s bigger? Does this amount mean you are now living “in envy, in frustration”?
Do what you have to do, so you can choose what you want to do!
Well, what to do?
Live with an answer to these questions. Be satisfied with what you are doing, knowing that things will turn out better. Don’t live a life of waiting, of frustration, of envy”!
All the things you want now will come when you are ready! If your lifestyle is such that you are not ready, “worry” will only make it worse. It will not answer a thing.
Try to answer some of these questions. Try them on your best friend, your wife, your college age kids.
Try them while you still need the answers!..... Try them while you still have the time!
